One Guitar Cake Pan measures 16.5 inch x 8.5 inch x x 2 inch deep. These measurements are from the widest and longest points on the pan. Guitar Cake Decorating Instructions

Supplies needed:
Guitar Cake Pan
1 box of 2 layer cake mix
4 1/2 cups butter cream icing
Cornstarch, light corn syrup
Decorating Bags and Couplers or Parchment Triangles
Cake Board, Foil Wrap or Serving Tray
Spatula

Icing Tips needed:
#3, #16 and #21

Icing colors needed:
Brown, Black, Golden Yellow and Red-Red

Make 4 1/2 cups butter cream icing:
  • Tint 2 1/4 cups dark brown (add a little red color to brown) (thin 1 1/4 cups with 1 tablespoon and 1/4 teaspoon light corn syrup)
  • Tint 3/4 cup brown (add yellow color to brown)
  • Tint 1/2 cup black
  • Reserve 1 cup white (thin 1/2 cup with 1/2 teaspoon light corn syrup)
DECORATING DIRECTIONS:
  1. WITH THINNED WHITE ICING: Use spatula and “Icing Smooth With Spatula� directions to ice sides around finger board and head stock smooth
  2. WITH THINNED DARK BROWN ICING: Use spatula and “Icing Smooth With Spatula� directions to ice sides around body smooth, then ice finger board smooth
  3. WITH BLACK ICING:
    • Use spatula and “Icing Smooth With Spatulaâ€? directions to ice head stock and sound hole smooth
    • Use tip 3 and “To Make Outlinesâ€? directions to encircle sound hole
    • Use tip 3 and “To Make Dotsâ€? directions to add tuners
    • Use tip 16 and “To Make Starsâ€? directions to cover bridge
  4. WITH BROWN ICING: Use tip 16 and “To Make Stars� directions to cover body
  5. WITH WHITE ICING:
    • Use tip 3 and “To Make Stringsâ€? directions to add horizontal frets, then pipe vertical strings
    • Use tip 3 and “To Make Dotsâ€? directions to cover ends of strings
    • Use tip 21 and “To Make Shellsâ€? directions to add bottom border around finger board
  6. WITH DARK BROWN ICING: Use tip 21 and “To Make Shells� directions to add bottom border around body






Electric Guitar Decorating Instructions

Supplies needed:
Guitar Cake Pan
1 box of 2 layer cake mix
4 3/4 cups butter cream icing
Cornstarch, light corn syrup
Decorating Bags and Couplers or Parchment Triangles
Cake Board, Foil Wrap or Serving Tray
Spatula

Icing Tips needed:
#3, #4, #7, #18, and #21

Icing colors needed:
Violet and Black

Make 4 3/4 cups butter cream icing:
  • Tint 1 3/4 cups violet
  • Tint 3/4 cup light violet
  • Tint 3/4 cup black
  • Reserve 1 1/2 cups white (thin 1 cup with 1 tablespoon light corn syrup)
DECORATING DIRECTIONS:
  1. Use thinned white icing and spatula to ice sides of guitar smooth.
  2. Use violet icing and spatula to ice headstock smooth.
  3. Use black icing and spatula to ice fingerboard smooth.
  4. Use tip 7 and black icing to outline body of guitar.
  5. Use tip 18 and violet icing to cover left side of guitar with stars.
  6. Use tip 18 and light violet icing to cover right side of guitar with stars.
  7. Use tip 18 and black icing to cover bridges with stars.
  8. Use tip 3 and white icing to pipe horizontal frets and then pipe vertical strings.
  9. Use tip 3 and black icing to pipe dots to cover ends of strings.
  10. Use tip 21 and violet icing to pipe star bottom border.




Acoustic Guitar Cake Decorating Instructions

Supplies needed:
Guitar Cake Pan
1 box of 2 layer cake mix
3 1/2 cups buttercream icing
Light Cocoa Candy Melts®
White Candy Melts®
Primary Candy Colors Set
Cornstarch, light corn syrup
Decorating Bags and Couplers or Parchment Triangles
Wax Paper
Cake Board, Foil Wrap or Serving Tray

Icing Tips needed:
#3, and #18

Icing colors needed:
Rose, Violet, Lemon Yellow, Copper(light skin tone), Brown and Black

Make 3 1/2 cups buttercream icing:
  • Tint 3/4 cups light brown (add a little red color to brown)
  • Tint 1 1/2 cups brown (add a little red color to brown) (thin 1 cup with 1 tablespoon light corn syrup)
  • Tint 1/2 cup black
  • Reserve 3/4 cup white (thin 1/2 cup with 1 1/2 teaspoons light corn syrup)


DECORATING DIRECTIONS:
  1. Tint approximately 1/2 cup melted white candy black using equal amounts of red and blue candy colors. You will use nearly all of the red and blue color in the set. Candy will darken upon setting in refrigerator.
  2. Using "To Make Candy Plaque Using the Pan" directions, mold the following candy plaques: Using black candy, separately mold the fingerboard, tuners and the bridge. Using light cocoa candy, mold the headstock. Using black candy, mold the sound hole on the outside of pan.
  3. Use light brown icing and spatula to lightly ice top area of cake where pick guard pattern will be traced. Let set until it has a slight crust. Follow directions to transfer pattern to cake.
  4. Use thinned brown icing and spatula to ice sides of guitar body smooth.
  5. Use thinned white icing and spatula to ice sides around headstock and fingerboard smooth.
  6. Use tip 18 and brown icing to pipe stars around outer top border of guitar.
  7. Use tip 18 and light brown icing to pipe stars on remainder of guitar top.
  8. Use tip 3 and black icing to outline pick guard pattern. Use tip 18 and black icing to cover pick guard with stars.
  9. Position candy plaques on cake.
  10. Use tip 3 and white icing to pipe horizontal frets and then pipe vertical strings.
  11. Use tip 3 and white icing to pipe dots to cover ends of strings.



Please note that the supplies, icing tips and icing colors are not included with the cake pan.
