SpongeBob SquarePants Cake Decorating Instructions

Supplies needed:
SpongeBob Cake Pan
One 2- layer cake mix
5 3/4 cups of butter cream icing
cornstarch

Icing Tips needed:
3, 16, 21

Icing Colors needed:
yellow, royal blue, no taste red, brown, black

DECORATING DIRECTIONS

  1. Tint 3/4 cup of icing yellow, tint 1/2 cup green (combine yellow with a small amount of blue an a touch of brown), tint 1/2 cup black, tint 1/2 cup brown/red (small amount) combination, tint 1/4 red, and 1/4 blue. Reserve 3 cups of white.
  2. Ice cake sides and background area on top and smooth with white icing.
  3. Ice sponge holes smooth with thinned green combo icing. Ice mouth smooth with black icing.
  4. Outline sponge area with tip 3 in green combination icing.
  5. Outline facial features, arms, shirt, pants, tie, legs and shoes with tip 3 in black icing.
  6. Cover head, arms and legs with tip 16 stars in yellow icing.(build up nose, lips cheek and fingers with more stars.
  7. Cover shirt and socks with tip 16 stars and white icing.
  8. Cover pants with tip 26 stars in brown/red combo icing.
  9. Pipe in eyes and teeth using tip 3 in white icing.
  10. Pipe in irises using tip 3 and blue icing then smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch. Add tip 3 outline sock stripes in blue icing.
  11. Pipe in pupils using tip 3 and black icing then smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch.
  12. Cover shoes with tip 16 stars in black icing.
  13. Pipe tip 3 outline eyelashes and belt in black icing.
  14. Pipe in tongue with tip 3 in pink icing then smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch.
  15. Pipe in tie with tip 3 in red icing then smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch.
  16. Add tip 3 outline cheek and sock stripes and dot freckles in red icing.
  17. Pipe tip 21 star bottom in white icing.






SpongeBob Takes the Field Cake Decorating Instructions

Supplies needed:
SpongeBob Cake Pan
One 2- layer cake mix
Baseball Mitt Pattern
Mini Ball Pan
Cookie Sheet
Circle Metal Cutter
Cake Board
Foil Wrap Paring Knife
Roll-Out Cookie Dough
Cornstarch
Butter cream icing

Icing Tips needed:
2, 3, 12 and 16

Icing Colors needed:
yellow, royal blue, no taste red, brown, black, terra cotta

DECORATING DIRECTIONS

  1. Roll out cookie dough; cut mitt using pattern and paring knife.
  2. Cut circle cookie. Bake and cool.
  3. Outline mitt with tip 3 and cover with tip 16 stars.
  4. Pipe tip 12 ball in mitt; add tip 2 stitching lines; set aside.
  5. Ice cake sides and background areas smooth.
  6. Outline SpongeBob, sponge spots, facial features, hand, arms, shirt, pants, shoes, socks and spikes on shoes with tip 3.
  7. Pipe in tip 3 sponge spots, whites of eyes, irises, pupils, inside of mouth, tongue and teeth (smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch).
  8. Cover sponge, arms, hands, pants, shirt with tip 16 stars.
  9. Pipe tip 3 string eyelashes and dot freckles.
  10. For cap, trim off 1 inch from Mini Ball cake; pipe tip 3 lines and cover hat with tip 16 stars.
  11. For brim, cut circle cookie in half and ice smooth.
  12. Attach hat, brim and mitt with icing.
  13. Pipe tip 16 pull-out star grass bottom border.






Hang Ten with SpongeBob Cake Decorating Instructions

Supplies needed:
SpongeBob Cake Pan
One 2- layer cake mix
Butter cream icing
Brush Set
Rolling Pin
Roll & Cut Mat
Cutter/Embosser
13 x 9 inch Cake Board
Foil Wrap
11 3/4 inch Lollipop Sticks
Craft knife
24 oz. Ready-To-Use White Rolled Fondant
Gum-Tex
Meringue Powder
Marshmallows
Royal Icing
cornstarch

Icing Tips needed:
2, 3, 4, 6, 16 and 21

Icing Colors needed:
yellow, royal blue, no taste red, brown, black, red-red

DECORATING DIRECTIONS

  1. At least 3 days in advance: Make fondant surfboard.
  2. Knead 1/2 teaspoon Gum-Tex into 7 oz. of fondant.
  3. Tint 5 oz. of fondant brown and 2 oz. red.
  4. Roll out brown fondant 1/4 inch thick and use pattern to cut surfboard body and finch
  5. Roll out red fondant 1/8 inch thick and cut 7/8 inch wide strip to length of surfboard body; attach with damp brush.
  6. Reserve remaining brown and red fondant.
  7. Let dry 48 hours on cornstarch-dusted surface.
  8. When completely dry, position pattern on surfboard body and trace flower patterns with craft knife.
  9. Outline flowers with royal icing and tip 2; pipe in with tip 3 and thinned royal icing; let dry.
  10. Using pattern, trace finger area on surfboard with knife.
  11. Pipe fingers with tip 6.
  12. Outline fingers with tip 3, fill in with tip 16 stars.
  13. Attach 2 lollipop sticks to back of surfboard body with royal icing.
  14. Trim off necktie, right arm and heel areas from cake.
  15. Ice sides and background areas smooth.
  16. Using buttercream, outline SpongeBob, spots, facial features, arm, hand, trunks, legs and feet with tip 3; outline tongue with tip 4.
  17. Pipe in tip 3 spots, eyes, irises, pupils, inside of mouth, teeth, cuff on sleeve; pipe in tongue with tip 4 (smooth all with finger dipped in cornstarch).
  18. Cover head, trunks, legs, arm and sleeve with tip 16 stars.
  19. Pipe tip 3 drawstring bow on trunks and string eyelashes.
  20. Roll out reserved brown and red fondant 1/8 inch thick.
  21. Using pattern, cut surfboard tip in brown and a 7/8 inch wide red strip to fit.
  22. Attach strip with damp brush.
  23. Outline flowers with royal icing and tip 2; pipe in using tip 3 and thinned royal icing.
  24. Pipe tip 21 C-motion bottom border.
  25. Insert surfboard body into cake side; position surfboard tip behind right leg and fin under surfboard; support surfboard body with marshmallows.






Grillmaster SpongeBob Cake Decorating Instructions

Supplies needed:
SpongeBob Cake Pan
One 2- layer cake mix
Butter cream icing
Rolling Pin
Roll & Cut Mat
Cutter/Embosser
Brush Set
8 inch Lollipop Sticks
Cake Board
Foil Wrap
Toothpick
Paring Knife
24 oz. Ready-To-Use White Rolled Fondant
Gum-Tex
Thinned Fondant Adhesive
cornstarch

Icing Tips needed:
3, 16, 21

Icing Colors needed:
yellow, royal blue, no taste red, brown, black, golden yellow, orange, violet, leaf green

DECORATING DIRECTIONS

  1. In advance: Make fondant hamburger, spatula, candle, and hat.
  2. Combine 2 teaspoons of Gum-Tex with 24 oz. of fondant and tint as follows: 2 oz. each: navy blue, black, tan (for bun), reddish brown (for burger), Leaf Green (for lettuce), gray (use a small amount of black), light blue; tint 1 oz. yellow.
  3. Reserve 6 oz. white.
  4. Roll out fondant 1/8 inch thick on cornstarch-dusted surface.
  5. Using patterns, cut entire hat and hamburger/spatula/candle in white to use as base; cut color sections using patterns and attach to white base with damp brush.
  6. Marbleize yellow and brown fondant from burger; roll out 1/8 inch thick and cut flame shape. Let dry.
  7. Bake and cool cake.
  8. Trim off left hand and open area on left side of body; leave sleeve.
  9. Ice sides and background areas smooth.
  10. Pipe in tip 3 SpongeBob spots (smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch).
  11. Pipe tip 3 whites of eyes, irises, pupils, tongue, mouth and teeth (smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch).
  12. Outline body, face and shoes with tip 3.
  13. Cover face, right arm, legs and shoes with tip 16 stars.
  14. Using tip 3, pipe string eyelashes, stripes on socks and belt, pipe in tie and add dot freckles.
  15. Position spatula; attach hamburger and candle with dots of icing.
  16. Curve lollipop stick to make arm holding spatula and cover with fondant; insert in cake.
  17. Cut hand using pattern and white fondant; position on cake.
  18. Outline hand and arm with tip 3 and cover with tip 16 stars.
  19. To support hat, insert 2 lollipop sticks in top of head; one extended 1 inch, the other 2 inch
  20. Position hat on sticks, attaching with thinned fondant adhesive; outline top and pipe anchor with tip 3.
  21. Pipe tip 21 shell bottom border.
  22. *Combine SpongeBob SquarePants Yellow, Blue and Brown for green outlines on SpongeBob.
  23. Combine Royal Blue, Black and Violet for navy hat brim shown.
  24. Combine Brown with Orange for tan bun shown.
  25. Combine Red with Brown for reddish brown hamburger shown.
